Seven basenjis gathered for a muddy Halloween morning in Washington Square Park in New York City.

One puppy, Pepper (female, ten-months-old,) led the action. Penny (female, seven-years-old,) made her premiere. She’s from New Jersey where she bore several litters. Now she’s retired to a life in New York City. She was joined by two groups of dogs that shared names: Dante (male, yearling, red/white;) and Dante (male, three-years-old, tri-;) Scout, (female, four-years-old, red/white;) and Scout (male, ten-years-old, tri.) The last adult was Kepler (male, seven-years-old.) Starting temperature: 54°F|12.2°C
